10 IR倶利伽羅駅 IR Kurikara Station

富山との県境近くにある倶利伽羅駅。今はIRいしかわ鉄道の管轄です。駅舎は明治42（1909）年の開業当時の建物をリフォームして使用している。駅の正面にはレトロな丸ポストが駅舎前にある一方で、無人駅ながら切符購入のためのICOKAが使える。ホームでは「源平倶利伽羅峠の歌」を列車の発着時に聞くことができる。また、構内の陸橋階段には駅舎側には火牛や八重桜のイラスト、そして反対側階段には源氏と平家の家紋のイラストが描かれている。駅舎の中に広場があり、火牛像のモニュメントがあり、夜はライトアップしている。更に駅舎の近くには、明治時代に作られたレトロな赤レンガ作りのトンネルがある。線路の下をくぐって反対側へ出られる通路です。立派なレンガ造りは、時代を感じさせるトンネルです。ちょっとした散策をしてみるのも楽しい。

Kurikara Station is located near the border with Toyama Prefecture. It is now under the jurisdiction of IR Ishikawa Railway. The station building is a remodeled building from the time of its opening in 1909. There is a retro round post in front of the station building while ICOA can be used to purchase tickets even though the station is unmanned. On the platform, you can listen to the “Genpei Kutugara Toge no Uta” (Song of the Genpei Pass) when trains arrive and depart. On the stairs of the overpass in the station building, there are illustrations of fire cows(Kagyu-Zou) and double cherry blossoms on the station building side, and crests of the Genji and Heike clans on the stairs on the other side. There is a plaza inside the station building with a monument of a fire bull, which is lit up at night. Near the station building, there is a retro red brick tunnel built in the Meiji era. It is a passage that allows you to pass under the railroad tracks and go out the other side. The splendid brickwork is a tunnel that reminds you of the times. It is fun to take a short stroll through it.
