＜不動が池＞ Fudoga-pond　　

津幡町倶利伽羅地区の倶利迦羅不動寺の不動ヶ池（ふどうがいけ）は、不動寺境内の奥之院に奉安された「倶利迦羅不動尊」発祥の池で、かつては地下水が湧き出ていました。現在は最近の地滑り対策により、池が枯渇しているため、水道水により復元されています。歴史国道「北陸道」を挟んで、向かいの駐車場から下りたところに不動ヶ池があります。石仏の不動尊像が納められたお堂があり、本尊「倶利迦羅不動明王（ふどうみょうおう）」と合わせて参拝者が多く訪れます。
　倶利迦羅不動寺の縁起によると、718（養老2）年にインドの高僧、善無畏三蔵（ぜんむいさんぞう）法師が国内に仏教を広めるために倶利伽羅を訪れ、祈願したところ、不動ヶ池の中から黒い龍（倶利迦羅不動明王）が天に昇ったといわれ、その姿を彫刻し奉安されたという由来があります。

The Fudoga Pond at the Kurikara-Fudo Temple in the Kurikara district of Tsubata Town is the birthplace of the “Kurikara-Fudosonn” pond dedicated to the Okunoin temple in the Fudo Temple precincts, and used to be fed by underground water. The pond was once fed by underground water, but due to recent landslide control measures, the pond is now depleted and has been restored with tap water. Fudogai Pond is located across the Hokuriku Road, a Historical National Road, and down from the parking lot across the street. 　There is a hall that houses a stone Buddha, Fudosonn-Zo, which attracts many worshippers along with Honzonn “Kurikara-Fudo-Myoo”.

According to the origin of the temple, in 718 (Yoro 2), a high priest from India, Zenmui Sanzo, came to Kurikara to spread Buddhism in Japan, and when he prayed, a black dragon (Kurikara Fudo Myoo) is said to have ascended to heaven from Fudoga Pond. There is a story that the figure was carved and dedicated.

＜倶利伽羅山での湧水の起源＞ The origin of the spring-water in the Mt. Kurikara

　倶利伽羅山の頂上付近は地質学的に見るとすき間の多い砂岩層で覆われおり、その下部層は粘土層からなっております。その結果、雨が降ると不透水層である粘土層の上にある砂岩層の中に水を貯める水瓶ができます。下部の粘土層は約20度ほど傾いており、これが倶利伽羅山の南側高度２００ｍ付近に年間を通じて水瓶から少しずつ湧水が染み出る地点がいくつか見られます。不動ケ池も昔はこの湧水の１つであったと考えられます。しかし地すべり地帯でもある不動ケ池付近は対策が施されたため、現在は湧水は枯渇しております。

Geologically speaking, the area around the top of Mt. Kurikara is covered with a sandstone layer with many gaps, and the lower layer is made up of clay. As a result, when it rains, the sandstone layer above the clay layer, which is impermeable, forms a water bottle to store water. The clay layer at the bottom is tilted about 20 degrees, and there are several points where water gradually seeps out of the jars throughout the year at an altitude of about 200 meters south of Mt. Fudoga Pond is thought to have been one of these springs in the past. However, the area around Fudoga Pond, which is also a landslide zone, has been remedied, and the spring water has now dried up.
